About Doug
Doug Wheeler is continually answering a life-long call to guide men and male-identifying individuals through difficult yet essential recovery processes. Whether it's depression, trauma, anxiety, or unattended grief, he knows men are typically the last to seek help and therefore the first to be broken by these things.

His Story
After experiencing his own personal seasons of loss and despair, Doug holds to the claim that a man must heal his pain or he will hurt those around him, whether emotionally or physically. This conviction is not abstract — it is the foundation of every session, every conversation, every step of the work he does with clients.
Doug has been a licensed psychotherapist for over 35 years, with a Master's Degree in counseling as well as a doctorate in the Integration of Religion and Society. Alongside his private practice, he has taken part in numerous trauma recovery trainings and group retreats as both participant and facilitator.
He has partnered with and advised various social service organizations, particularly those that serve the unhoused and addiction-recovery communities. This deep community involvement shapes his understanding of the full spectrum of human struggle — and resilience.
Debut Book
Doug's debut book explores themes of flight, surrender, and transformation — drawing on the ancient story of Jonah as a lens for understanding the modern man's journey toward healing and liberation.
Beyond the Practice
Doug continues to grow through his writing, public speaking, and podcasting — bringing his insights to broader audiences and staying at the forefront of therapeutic thought.
Whether in a one-on-one session or from a stage, his message is consistent: healing is possible, and it begins with the courage to look inward.
